As it stands, after updating to Crimson I cannot receive SMS from Amazon anymore. Other SMS arrive normally. As they explained it could be related to the fact that Amazon does not really send from a number, but rather from some name

Who are “they” in this case?

Amazon. mmcli shows no messages stuck. So it feels like the bug is in chatty or some other Crimson component

I don’t think it’s likely that the issue is related to Crimson. A casual internet search shows a lot of people complaining about not receiving Amazon’s texts.
I see in this Amazon forum that a representative said they use Twilio for messaging.
Are the Amazon codes being sent to you internationally, or are they perhaps short codes instead of phone numbers?
(And I do realize that they weren’t a problem for you in the past, but maybe something changed at Twilio or Amazon.)
