New field for “Phone … Your modem’s phone number” does not save phone number when added. Other settings save fine. I have not had issues with recieving texts until today.

Chatty debug command?

May be something strange in `journalctl’ from Chatty or ModemManager…

Maybe, I will look in the morning, dump some sanitized logs.

Where do you configure this?

that field is no longer there after moving my SIM to an Android phone, then moving it back. It was in MMS settings above APN

journalctl | grep “Apr 10”
it’s taking forever to process.

If I can’t get this figured out in the next hour, I will try backports, if it doesn’t help, I will reflash

My librem 5 sometimes stops receiving texts on Byzantium. When I use the sudo mmcli -m any --messaging-list-sms it will show a bunch of things stuck in (Receiving) state or whatever when the receiving of texts has failed.

Then, if I go to each and everyone one that is stuck in that form, and I use sudo mmcli -m any --messaging-delete-sms=123 where 123 is the number of the stuck message, then after some slight delay I will start magically receiving texts again.

I don’t know why it works like that, and that is obviously very annoying. I use a texting provider who also has a web portal that snoops on my texts, and lets me do texting from a browser instead of from the Chatty app. After enough time with the Librem 5, I usually got in the habit of just always using the web portal. It’s frustrating to deal with something that will sometimes mysteriously stop receiving.

I reset the L5, and will try the command, if it works, I will go back to using my L5.

After reflashing, this command actually works now.
