A bunch of marketing speak and I didn’t see if they would be releasing bin blobs or foss drivers for the chipset components. I hate the stupid ARM and Qualcom near monopolies vs RISC-V and other open hardware but a flagship grade CPU is also pretty nice especially if they get some great power savings sample code for us in normal-ish userlands vs anddroid or macOSmobile..
I’m pleased, and surprised, that debian will have support for a major new hardware before ubuntu.
Debian sid usually gets new hardware support before Ubuntu. Many of the Ubuntu devs are also Debian devs, and Ubuntu uses Debian sid as its upstream source, so Ubuntu works to get stuff supported first in Debian sid, so it will make it into the next version of Ubuntu.
As a Debian user, I am very grateful that we have Canonical contributing upstream to Debian.
