I got a SMS and have this in Chat
with its mobile number. How could I add this to an existing contact in Contacts
w/o re-typing it, first to paper and then into Contacts
?
Yeah that caught me out before as well, I didnāt find an easy answer.
Contacts app needs a Share button on it as well, to dump the contact details into an email, SMS or over to Fractal or whatever.
I found a way: From Chat
you can dial the (unknown) number. When Call
came up, I stopped the call before it connected. There you can copy the phone number to clipboard. I opened the contact in Contacts
for editing and in the empty field for a new number, I used āpasteā from the terminal
menu.
Correct me if Iām wrong, but I think in an older version of chatty we had the function to copy text directly. I donāt know why it does not work anymore.
I think it can be done as follows:
- Tap the three little dots in the upper right corner
- Choose āChat Detailsā in the menu that pops up
- When Chat Details is shown, there is a button to add new contact if there is not already a contact for that phone number
At least it used to work like that earlier.
Yes, there is a button to create a new contact, but no way to add the new number to an existing contact (of which you until now only have had a landline number).
In āchat detailsā you can select and copy the number
How exactly? I canāt.
Same here, I have no such option.
I am sorry. I was thinking of a previous versionš¬
