I’ve finally received my SparkLAN card and did the following:
Checked if files are in /usr/share/firmware-librem5-nonfree/firmware/brcm
Flashed the firmware jail.
No go. If I flick the switch to power the wifi card, I get the following:
sdhci-esdhc-imx 30b50000.mmc: card claims to support voltages below defined range
mmc1: error -110 whilst initialising SDIO card
That doesn’t look like software problem. The voltage warning isn’t the one that causes initialization failure, it’s just another indication that something’s wrong. Try to reseat the card in the slot, clean its contacts etc. If that doesn’t help it may have to be replaced.
So I ordered the card around 6 months ago but, since I ordered also a new battery and the PGP card, I had it shipped to the US and only met my friend who brought it to me last week.
They all came in a close tight envelope and I suspect that the battery crushed the card a little bit. Upon closer inspection, the RF shield on top of the circuitry at the center of the card is crushed and that maybe shorted something inside.
I am abroad and will contact support once I am back home. Back to the old card.
