Status of social.librem.one vis-à-vis Mastodon?

Is Librem Social one of the “non-Mastodon Fedi platforms” mentioned in the toot below? I ask mainly so I can use the right terminology explaining this to others who might want to join the Twitter Exodus. (Should I say I’ve joined the Fediverse, rather than Mastodon, e.g.?)

But secondarily, if the answer is “yes”, then what are the implications?

I think Librem Social is a mastodon instance and mastodon is one application in the fediverse among others. Mastodon instances communicate via the ActivityPub protocol.

So saying that you are on the fediverse or on mastodon would both be correct but the latter more specific.
