Steps to flash librem 5 from Fedora

Are there instructions to flash Librem5 from Fedora? (not necessarily by Purism themselves but maybe blog etc)
Should I just get uuu from Release Release uuu_1.5.182 · nxp-imx/mfgtools · GitHub and then follow: Reflashing PureOS - Purism user documentation ?

Another possibility to consider that has worked for me at least once in the past if I recall is to create a bootable SD card for the Librem 5, then boot the SD card, then while you are running from inside of the SD card you can use standard linux terminal commands to write the Librem 5 img file onto the main memory and flash it, but without the need for a computer.

Of course, this does however require an SD card, and they say that taking out the SD card tray on the librem 5 while the device is powered on might short circuit and kill the cards in the tray.

(Edit: This paradigm also worked reasonably well for me when I recently wanted to transfer my Librem 5 configuration between devices. A lot of Android and iOS machines like to do application or document syncing programs, and they use a special program for that. But what I did was to insert a bootable SD card into the old Librem 5, use the same dd command that can overwrite the storage – but in reverse – so that it dumped the Librem 5 storage to a file on the SD card. Then, I put the same bootable SD card in a new Librem 5, booted from it, and used the imaging command but where it then imaged the file on the SD card back onto the memory store of this new Librem 5. As a result, I had a perfect device transfer from new to old, with nothing lost, since the hardware is the same and so using the exact same software, far as I can tell, is literally perfect.)

Yes. Create a Live Boot USB for an operating system that is known to work (e.g. PureOS, Ubuntu and presumably other Debian family members e.g. Mint), and reflash from the Live Boot using the normal instructions.

This approach might even work if you normally run Microsoft Windows. :frowning:

Sure, it might work to do what you are proposing but if it doesn’t then it is probable that most forum users will not be able to reproduce your environment and/or help with troubleshooting.

I think SD card doesn’t really work on Crimson yet?

Booting from SD doesn’t have anything to do with the OS installed on the phone

Sure. My point was that I use it as a means to change the OS installed on the phone without needing any other special type of linux machine besides the L5.
