You can presumably change your password with the passwd command.
Based on past (bitter) experience though from other users, I would recommend that you create a second user to log in as (as backup in case you break purism) and make sure that it can sudo and enable the SSH server - so that you have a way to get in and fix problems if things go pear-shaped.

What about the “Password should be 6 digits” directions in the screenshot above, and the digits-only keyboard?
I suppose that would only mean I can’t use that particular GUI setting to change the password in the future once an alphanumeric one is created in the terminal…? (Unless and until the GUI is updated.) But no other issues with going alphanumeric?

Well, we should probably lift that restriction now that phosh can handle alphanumerical passwords

- Notification messages are displayed on, and can be swiped away directly from the lock screen.
Very convenient.

Does presence of “notification message(s)” include very nice blue LED light slowly pulsing? I think I registered this briefly but not sure at this moment.
The blue LED appears for some items, e.g. software updates available, software updates installed, etc., but not for actions like completion of a screenshot. Probably calls and messages received also activate the LED, but I haven’t noticed.

I just tested setting and dismissing an alarm in Clocks.
The repeating buzz/vibrate sounds at the requested time, the blue LED pulsates, the notification message is shown on the lockscreen if the power button is pressed, the notification message can be swiped away from the lockscreen, but the alarm cannot be turned off without entering the unlock code, opening the Clocks app, and stopping the alarm from there.
Bit inconvenient…not optimal.
- Connecting to a power outlet when the phone is turned off still causes it to power up. (And lockscreen time/etc display does not go black unless power button is pushed; could this cause burn-in?)

I too find this annoying. Sometimes I just want to charge the L5 but I have to wait for the phone to boot and then power down right away. Is there a setting for this that I’m missing? If not, there should be a setting that selects or deselects this behavior.

Never tried. It should work, but you may have to manually adjust some stuff in some places. I’d say: make a full backup and give it a try

Maybe not…
- Proximity sensor works much better during a call than I observed with Amber. Screen blanks out immediately when pressing to ear, and stays blank while in place.
Likely it won’t work unless that ‘stuff’ in those ‘places’ is documented. (It has been discussed extensively and commented on by Kyle - but that would have been for amber. q.v.)
I’m curious, @amarok, as to why you want to change the username. Some reasons that I can come up with, applying to myself, are:
- logic - it isn’t really logical for the default username to be purism - it’s not as if Purism will be logging in to the phone - most distros solicit the default username on the first run and create the account at that time
- vanity - want my own name there
- security - it slightly eases the task of an attacker to know an existing (valid) username (however that actually argues against the second reason, just not to the same extent)

Solely for reasons of security. We L5 owners should not all have the same publicly-known user name.
Especially while using a simple 6-digit code.
