for me the symbol shows there if i’m on vpn.
if i am off vpn no symbol shows though.
maybe check your network>vpn in settings?
I’ve no VPN configured at all.
That symbol shows up when you don’t have cellular data. Check in your settings to see if it’s turned off or configured incorrectly.
Close, but not quite true. This symbol means “no internet connectivity”.

But I have had in that moment Internet as shows the page, perhaps through Wifi.
