Techbelt with Librem 5 a wearable computing setup

I recently saw The DIY FOSS cyborg -- Dustycloud Brainstorms and Dweb camp 2024 presentation video. It is
awesome what Zacchaeus Scheffer describe there and I wanted to share it with you guys.

I emailed Zacchaeus and told me he is here at this forum.

@Eikcaz Congratulations on your efforts using Librem 5 as a wearable compute setting. What you have done gave me some insights to what it is possible to do.

My first question: Would you share a how-to of your configuration/installation/service setup through the GNU Guix functional package manager with us?

Hi @Tonyp. I put together a guide some time ago to help people set up guix on the L5. You can see the guide at https://zacchae.us/guix-usd.html (or plain text replacing .html with .org). I DO NOT reccomend blindly running it as a script, but it should give all the relevant details.

Also, in my talk and in the blog post, I wear Vufines, but I should mention that I have upgraded to Xreal Airs like in this photo:

The design is really quite simple. On the technology side, everything is USB plug-and-play/works out of the box, except that I went through >10 different USB-C hubs before I found one that works (sorry for linking to amazon…): Amazon.com
Otherwise, it’s just an art’s and crafts project.

Love it, but remember me about the Tinsel / (Lametta in German) Tribe in Neal Stephensons Snow Crash… ;D

Come on, just skip this shit and god connected to your Server with your Librem5 by BCI (Brain Computer Interface)…

OpenBCI products are quite expensive.
