Does that mean PinePhone Amateur is still in stock?
Yes! it’s written! “Alive and kicking”
very sad that market prefer capitalism surveillance, no freedom, no privacy,…
Poor world
So what i know is that Pine64 do not want pay more money to FCC, as PPP has many heavy hardware issues. As PPP is selling too cheaper $400 which does not enough for creating and certifying new revs, that is why PPP never had revs. At the same time due to disputes and PP bad opensource software, ppp got low sales.
PP is pretty much more stable on revs, thats why still selling…
I am probably a bit too avid of a KDE Mobile user and this made me a bit weary that it may affect the community. But, the PinePhone has been such an odd community from the beginning in many ways.
They shipped Manjaro for a while—which felt like an odd choice.
Later they switched to Sailfish OS. I am actually surprised Sailfish still exists—I would have thought between Graphene OS, Lineage OS, Ubuntu Touch, and Mobian they would have passed some time ago.
Thankfully, we still have the Librem 5, and I am always happy to see coporate backers in the FLOSS space.
@myrcy Keep in mind that some of us use the Pinephone too and personally, each time I try to use the Librem 5 daily, I give up because of (software) problems I was able to solve on the Pinephone… and each time I use a Pinephone for a long time, some components (screen, modem, etc) die. Both devices have their pros and cons. I don’t think that the Pinephone community is odd. I used Manjaro during a few months, I prefer Mobian for sure.
