Timeline for availability of v3 products?

Could someone from Purism please comment on when we might expect to see in stock for either the 14 or the mini? I need a bigger machine than the tablet, and I don’t really want a server.

(It would be nice if even an approximate target were included in the “coming soon” on the product pages)

Thanks for your interest and support! Barring any unforeseen circumstances:

  • Librem 16 v1: Expected Q4 '25. Pre-orders may be offered in the near future.
  • Librem Mini v3: Rough estimate of Q2 '26.
  • Librem 14 v2: Too early to say.

Thanks! 16 is a bigger form factor than I’d prefer, but for timeliness I may comprimise.

Followup Q: it wasn’t clear from the PureBoot/coreboot page what hardware I might expect to work. Could I flash pureboot and install pureOS onto any “standard” laptop? (e.g. a Dell Latitude) Would I have to build the image first in that case?

You are able to run PureOS on a Dell Latitude by going through the normal installation process. A Dell Latitude will most likely require proprietary drivers for WLAN operation. I previously created a work-in-progress script here to download and install such drivers for this specific purpose.

The other part of the question though was about flashing pureboot/coreboot.

I would say “no”, don’t do that.

  • Leave whatever “BIOS” is on there.
  • Disable the Wintel lock-in setting in the BIOS, if there is one.
  • Boot from installation media (using whatever key sequence is appropriate for that BIOS, if needed).
  • Install as normal.
