Trackpad started acting jittery

Over the last two days the trackpad on my Librem 15v3 has started acting jittery. Moving the cursor and clicking used to work well. Now the cursor jumps while I move it, make it difficult to target. The trackpad sometimes interprets clicks when I haven’t clicked (it didn’t do this before).

I keep PureOS regularly up-to-date, but I assume this isn’t a software issue. Any suggestions?

There was no visible dirt, but I gave the trackpad a thorough wipe with a dry cloth and this resolved the issue.
