Trouble booting up after updating

I’m not sure if this is a hardware issue or an issue with PureOS.
I have run the ‘sudo apt-get update’ ‘sudo apt-get upgrade’ and ‘sudo apt-get dist-upgrade’ commands.
When booting up, it errors out, i have to do a hard reset, then used advanced settings to upload the earliest version of PureOS in order to get the laptop to turn on.

I took pictures of what it says on the screen at that time, but I don’t see a way to upload pictures in this forum. I have looked through this forum for answers and am probably just having trouble with something silly because I’m also a beginner with Linux.
