Video connectors on the Librem mini

I received my Librem mini yesterday. Installation went very smoothly, all is working fine, but I’m perplexed by the xrandr output. I currently have the mini connected to my screen over HDMI and xrandr tells me:

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1200, maximum 16384 x 16384
DP-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-2 connected 1920x1200+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 546mm x 352mm
   1920x1200 59.95*+
   1920x1080 60.00 50.00 59.94 59.99
   1920x1080i 60.00 50.00 59.94
   1600x1200 60.00
   1680x1050 59.88
   1280x1024 75.02 60.02
   1440x900 59.90
   1280x960 60.00
   1366x768 59.79
   1152x864 75.00
   1280x720 60.00 50.00 59.94
   1024x768 75.03 70.07 60.00
   832x624 74.55
   800x600 72.19 75.00 60.32 56.25
   720x576 50.00
   720x480 60.00 59.94
   640x480 75.00 72.81 66.67 60.00 59.94
   720x400 70.08
DP-3 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

This brings 2 questions:

  1. Why does xrandr say that my screen is connected to DP-2 while it’s connected to the HDMI port?
  2. What are all those other connectors about? The Librem mini only has two video connectors that I can see (one HDMI and one DP).

  1. because internally the HDMI output is routed via one of the the GPU’s DP outputs, then to a DP->HDMI converter (a LSPCON) in order to offer HDMI 2.0, which the GPU doesn’t support natively

  2. xrandr is listing the internal GPU output ports, not the physical connectors on the board
