I just did the most recent software updated for PureOS. To my shock my cool blue mountain scene wallpaper was replaced with this pink… thing.
How do I get the blue mountains back?

Right click on that pink… thing, a menu will pop up letting you to change the background image.

Haha, I did realize this very shortly after I submitted my hasty post. It was literally the first thing I tried. I was mostly taken aback that a software update made a change to something I didn’t expect it to change. I was all “what is this? Windows 11?”
