"Web App" Underpreforming

Hello,
I’ve notice that the “web app” on the L5 seems to only work when surfing Youtube. But even that results in no full screen and a green bar to the right side of the video. Are there missing CODEX files required?

“Web app” seems to have trouble surfing most every other popular web site. I must not have something required installed. What am I missing?

Install and use firefox instead. Web on the Librem5 is Gnomes Epiphany Browser and this is not the best choice.

Honestly, I’m forcing myself too to use gnome web instead ff! Do you know if the staff is working on it?

Well, there may be some good news then, depending on what you are running.

Byzantium is currently offering version 40.2-1pureos2 for GNOME Web aka Epiphany.
If that is the version you are running, then you may be happy to know this is an older version. PureOS Crimson, once it’s available, should ship a much newer version of Epiphany.

Version 44.6 is the latest so there are likely many improvements since version 40, although I don’t know what has improved specifically.

You also have the option of installing Epiphany 44 from Flatpak while still on Byzantium, if you want to try it out.

Ok, I just installed it. It seems to be working pretty good so far…

Is it possible to have icons on the desktop that function like apps, like what the “web app” does?
