It need support GLES 3.0 for Librem 5

Also newer FF v132 added more aceleration via Webrender via GLES3.0+.
So the Performance and Future for Librem 5 it is on @austriancoder hands now. : )

I’m skeptical about GLES3 improved performance. Lots of things are not needed for desktop rendering and the main advantages (including render pipeline optimization) is for more complex tasks like game rendering. Maybe I’m wrong, but better having lower expectations and better results than higher expectations with worse results.

In the next mesa release (24.3) there will be support for multiple render targets (and some related extensions) - MRTs are needed for gles3.

I have other apps installed by the store which will not uninstall saying there is nothing installed by the store but yet have their respective app icon still taking up icon space… terminal shows epiphany installed, can’t remove!

You may need to use a root shell instead:

sudo -s

Every command thereafter will be treated as root. Once you are done, execute the exit command.

SO, I think I’ve got a problem.
Using sudo -i or -s I cannot do things I should in root… are changes attempted possibly being blocked by the store?
Flatpak was pre-installed I enabled, can’t get flathub repository, can’t install a package, can’t remove some I don’t want/need or don’t function well etc… weird

No, remember that every command using the root shell does not require prepending sudo. What commands are you executing exactly?

0k, I have no problem getting to root… tell me fhis, can you remove an item with icon using the store? The store says not installed? Why persistent icon on desktop?

Maybe I’m not clear, try again… I want to remove an app and it’s icon (button on desk) specifically MP4Client.
If the store will not remove both…why not?

There’s a generic difficulty that if you install via the GUI, you may not be able to uninstall via the GUI, and hence have to revert to the command line in order to uninstall.

There’s a lot to be said for always installing via the command line (until the bug gets fixed). Then you will always be able to uninstall via the command line i.e. you will know what you did in the first place so that you can reverse that action.
