What is the process for flashing the Crimson alpha images onto the Librem 5?

Hello everyone,

In looking to test the PureOS Crimson Alpha image, I realized that the librem5-flash-image package currently lists its documentation as the documentation for the development board: Files · main · Librem5 / librem5-flash-image · GitLab

My assumption is that this was potentially a placeholder until the phones were released.

However, in lieu of documentation, I wanted to ask here to ensure I properly understood the correct commands and how to properly utilize the tool to flash the device.

Alpha is developer level image, not for regular users, so it’s kinda appropriate. You can’t currently even upgrade the software on it via regular means.

If you need it, user docs for flashing (current stable that is byzantium) are at Reflashing PureOS - Purism user documentation.
