White screen issue on PureOS any fixes?

Hi everyone,

I have been using my Librem laptop with PureOS for a while without issues, but recently, I have started encountering a white screen problem. After logging in, the screen goes completely white, although the system seems to be running in the background (e.g., I can hear sounds and keyboard shortcuts seem to work).

I have tried rebooting, updating the system via the terminal in recovery mode, and even checking for hardware connections, but nothing seems to resolve it.

Has anyone else experienced this on PureOS or similar setups? Any tips on troubleshooting or fixing this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is this a laptop or a phone? If a laptop, what model of laptop?

Suggested avenues for troubleshooting:

  • Can you try an external monitor?
  • Can you ping the laptop from the local network or even ssh in?
  • What happens if you do a Live Boot of PureOS from a USB flash drive?

Does this happen immediately after logging in so that you have no possibility of doing anything from the GUI? Or is there a window of time after logging in and before the problem occurs?
