Why Does My Librem 14 Show a Black Screen After Boot?

Hi everyone,

I have been using my Librem 14 for a few months now, and recently it started showing a black screen, right after boot.

The power indicator is on, but nothing appears on the display. Iam running PureOS, and I didn’t make any major changes before this started happening.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could it be related to a software update, or might it be a hardware problem? I have tried a few basic troubleshooting steps, like restarting and connecting to an external monitor, but no luck so far.

Any advice or suggestions for diagnosing and fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Try a Live Boot from a USB flash drive, if that’s an option.

Clarify which boot firmware (Pureboot or Coreboot) and what version.

Are you using LUKS or not?

In theory, if you were to suspect strictly a display problem then just let it boot up (allowing adequate time) and then try to ping it on the local network (preferably using ethernet on the Librem 14 if it is already configured to work under normal circumstances).
