On blobs not much to reduce radiation, no matter if you use fancy linux, if linux enable you to reduce radiation it because blobs is permit, no linux.
So we all live on radiation world, so before to tackle radiation on computer it better to tackle radiation protect mechanics on your body. There is things on the body that is track this issues, however is disabled for ignorance, so to know if this things is disabled: you get fever, fever it is a sign that we are employing a secondary defense mechanism one that is aggressive and provocative, and which triggers fever, body aches, and lesions, inflamation. It is extremely dangerous, yet we have been surviving by this mechanism since 1950. This secundary protect is poor for excesive radiation, virus and baterium.
I realized this in 2014, but i didnt pay it much attention because it was a theoretical step in this research 2014 i get noticied that coronavirus will coming soon. In 2020, i arrived at this same point again due to certain circumstances because coronavirus everywhere then i know that my first protect cells is disabled; that was when i enabled it quickly and 1 week later i get coronavirus for someone he coughed right in front of me, and i had left my N100 mask in the car.. it was already too late to go for my mask i know what happening later on.
Since 2020, i havent known what a fever or a headache is.
The earth/planet virus are very mysterious, it same like computer virus which enable the theory that we are living into a computer simulation.
I think we have all the pieces of the puzzle here, the problem is that we cant put it together with biologically power.
So, until we have the puzzle DONE, i wont answer you the way you want.
It is important to remember skin effect on conductors(we are sacks of salty water) which counts in all of the AC to radio/microwave ending in the terrahertz/IR bands. Only ionizng electromagnetic radiation is able to penetrate. The militants EIRP combined with distance inversely squared and skin effect attenuates anything on radio/microwave bands.
Or are you concerned that you will be emitting a trackable DF’able radio signal, Yes from the android that is on the cellular network; but you can kill the modem and wifi on your librem with the external paranoia hardware kill switches and be online over the cable.
I recommend saving battery go BT PAN instead; wireless and fast but only in your personal area vs wide range high power WiFi
A USB host/client connection was on the Mobian WiKi if you do a bit of crawling.
(edit)OK but you also want to do Internet from the android to the Librem?
If so then you need to turn on bluetooth tethering on the android then do this on your Librem
There used to be a way to change txpower in the old iwconfg command, I have not looked into it in maybe 20 years. Try this: iw dev <interface> set txpower <value>
here is what these values will look like(add 00 to make 10 dbm into 1000)
Typical to Low Wi‑Fi TX Power Settings
Label
mW (milliwatts)
dBm
Very low — whisper range
0.1 mW
-10 dBm
Very low — short-range
0.2 mW
-7 dBm
Low — very short range
0.5 mW
-3 dBm
Low — personal area
1 mW
0 dBm
Low — small room
2 mW
3 dBm
Low‑medium — small home
5 mW
7 dBm
Medium — typical IoT/LPWAN low
10 mW
10 dBm
Medium — reduced Wi‑Fi
20 mW
13 dBm
Typical low‑end AP setting
50 mW
17 dBm
Typical consumer AP (reduced)
100 mW
20 dBm
But I still recommend my bluetooth tethering as it is doing exactly what you want.
Thanks to all.
I repeat: I want the internet of my librem 5 (which has sim card) to/on my android (which has no card).
I did not find the way to connect android with bluetooth to get internet from the librem 5.
Great!
I managed to use gnirehtet GitHub - Genymobile/gnirehtet: Gnirehtet provides reverse tethering for Android · GitHub to use USB to get internet from my librem 5 to my android phone.
Internet > LIBREM 5 > USB > Android 13 (about 35% radiation lost compared to the librem 5 with LTE enabled) works, but not on my Android 15 (for the moment did not find the trick)
Small charge exchange from the L5 to the Android with this setup, so it is quite fiine but I would like to bring it at 0.
NB: you need to install sudo apt install openjdk-11-jre to make the java version work on the librem5. I am still trying to make the rust version work.
This link works, as described on the page, for sharing to another COMPUTER (my librem 14 for instance), but not to an Android phone. Well, I could not manage it.
