I managed to get an XREAL Air 2 for the holidays this year along with the Beam accessory. My expectation was it could be used as a second screen since it accepts pretty much anything that can output DisplayPort over USB-C. The reality is the device is recognized in Settings > Display and information about the device is available when I did a token glance at dmesg, but nothing displays when plugged into the glasses directly, and when plugged into the Beam accessory still nothing displays and the Librem 5’s notification light rapidly flashes red (I think; I have color deficiency).
I didn’t take a good look at logs to sort out what’s going on tonight, but I intend to in the next few days once I can actually sit down and read what is happening via logs. What places or things (like in logs) should I be looking for while I sort out what’s going on to figure out if there is a way for me to get these working?
Edit: Initial thoughts right now about what may be going on is power related. Without the Beam accessory, the glasses are powered by the device it’s plugged in and I suspect that the Librem 5 cannot power the glasses. Though it should mean that it could be made to work with the Beam accessory as the Beam provides the power for the glasses so the device can focus on just outputting the screen.
