Has anyone seen this browser that is coming out that is built on top of firefox https://www.zen-browser.app/. It looks pretty interesting.
I’ve seen some talk about it and am curious to see how it progresses. I’ll likely run it for a while, if for no other reason than to support more non-chromium based browsers being out there.
It did coincide with me wondering if there are more chromium based browsers because of the bsd license as compared to the gpl attached to Firefox and lgpl portions of webkit.
No, never heard of it.
I remember the Zen linux distro, but not the Zen browser.
Oooooooommmmmmmmm…
I’ve heard that, at this point, it is the work of a single dev. From the github it seems that a lot of the “core functionality” depends on javascript extensions. The github page instructs the use of “npm” for installation and I am definitely not a fan of npm. Before I finished reading the title, I thought that the “Zen Browser” is yet another port of the “Zen Simulation”. However, it would probably be better described as a “Roamer” rather than a “Browser”.
