I have been trying to use Zoom on the LIbrem 14 without success. People can not see the video (evene when the kill switch is on) and get a very loud noise through the microphone. (Using the browswer version). I have attempted to download the app without success too. Any suggestions of how to successfully download the app? Thank you!
I have to use Zoom (sadly) regularly on my Librem14. I’m using the flatpak io.github.ungoogled_software.ungoogled_chromium to use Zoom - even though it seems to work somehow sometimes in my firefox (deb from the mozilla repo) with its customized profile settings, too.
I’m using PureOS crimson (and since lately on top of that packages from proxmox). My desktop is wayland/gnome and I’m using pipewire.
I have to admit I never tried the internal microphone since I’m using an external usb-headset.
To test your hardware you could try cheese to check on the Librem14 camera and flatpak org.gnome.SoundRecorder to check on the microphone you intend to use (this is what I do in case of problems).
In Zoom you could try
you should be shown your own video if you enabled video (for me it’s off by default as a zoom guest)
there’s an option to check your audio - it plays you some test sound and it records your mic to play back the recording to you after you had some silence
Short: if your Librem14 is not broken and your software not too old zoom should fine.
