A modified version of dos’s suggestion ( Chargers and battery banks for the Librem 5 - #33 by dos )
(basically, get
onea phone that isn’t broken).
For a serious answer, the issues can be from several sources:
- It could be the Librem 5 charge controller needs a reset.
- It could be the internal battery is having issues.
- It could be the source battery is having issues with PD delivery.
It looks like you’ve explored (3) by charging a different phone.
To test 1 and 2, there are lots of things:
a. One could try to reset the charge controller. There used to be an official link, but I don’t see it. Librem 5 not charging
b. I think that one can poll the charge controlling system ( ??? see Optimizing Battery Management on Linux Phones: A Dive into PinePhone and Librem 5 - #38 by granemar ).
c. If you have a pass-through USB-charging-tester dongle you could get some diagnostics out of that … combined with the standard corded charger to see if the corded charger has the same issue. etc.
