But the good news is that the waiting is nearly over. As it said in the September update:
“We will send a separate email later in September to each of you with a firm delivery date for your Librem 5 order.”
So, just a couple more days and there will be no more need for guessing or estimating - this thread will be obsolete by the end of this week.
Well, technically speaking, they wrote only that they are going to send the e-mails till the end of September. We could estimate how long the emails gonna be in transit…
In all seriousness, Purism’s email suggested that every customer would receive an email in Sept giving us more firm shipping estimates, not just those who are next in line in the queue. With less than 4 days left of Sept, it doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen.
Nothing’s changed really. Only thing we can do is hurry up and wait.
A common theme seems to be “How do I [do some basic function] on this thing?”
I really wonder if Purism’s documentation, or directions to find the documentation online, are adequate, if people can’t even figure out how to power down the phone. Probably more attention to getting instructional info to new owners’ is needed.
I realize there’s no way to make people read a quick start guide, though. It might help if this forum and the wikis were featured more prominently on Purism’s main site, so people know there’s help here.
Perhaps a desktop icon for Help that sorts before all the apps in the second group and which is a basic cheat-sheet?
Apart from power down, what else would it need to cover? Closing an app? Switching to another app? Opening another app?
At the end of the day, it’s what you are used to - and it takes time. The iPhone still manages to astonish me with obscurity and lack of user-friendliness after so many years.
