Gaming on the Librem 5

Sebastian from Purism posted videos of 17 desktop games running on the Librem 5.

https://dosowisko.net/l5/videos/

They look really good! The games are SuperTuxKart, Pingus, Animatch, The Battle for Wesnoth, The Secret of Monkey Island, The Curse of Monkey Island, Neverball, Hedgewars, Frozen Bubble (my favorite), Supertux (kids’ favorite), Gnome 2048, Chess, Lights Off, Taquin, Karambola, Boiled Corn, Non-Competitive Singing Potatoes, Spider Disco.

This is running on a Birch device! It looks a lot better than the “slideshow” the Linux Gamer said Animatch was on the Aspen device.

I cannot wait for mine… Evergreen starts shipping in 101 days

Cool! Thanks, Sebastian!

Agreed these demonstrate some massive GPU improvements!!

I really like seeing every improvement and bug fix Purism makes. I hope they keep it up!

what was that 3d action shooter at the end ? i didn’t recognize it …

it’s probably quake II  I’ve seen that being used before to demo the librem 5’s performance. Cool stuff!

That’s Tremulous, which is based on the Quake III engine.

Where did you hear the Evergreen is shipping in 101 days?

Note that the post your referencing was from December of 2019, so regardless of the answer I’m sure it’s irrelevant at this point.

Lol…man, not enough coffee this morning. Thanks for the heads up.

Np  That 101 days was now a long time ago. Still, looking forward to the launch of the phone!
