I noticed a couple of days ago that you can no longer call from GNOME-Contacts.
Just wondering if anyone knows if it will be coming back?
All fine now.
No. I still cannot hit a call
button in Contacts
and have it dial their number.
No I don’t. What version do you have?
I have 43.beta
I have the same version and use a local address book.
Huh, that’s weird.
Can you show me an example contact?
Want to try reflashing with a new Byzantium image to see if your issue disappears?
Not really.
Okay, perhaps your Librem 5 requires a modem firmware update. You can contact Purism support for instructions, as I am unable to publicly distribute them.
You can check your current firmware version using bm818-tools
.
I already have. It was when it updated to 43.beta that it changed.
What does your top bar look like?
Interesting
How about a distribution check?
lsb_release -a
Otherwise, I doubt there is any difference between our situations here, other than how recent our PureOS images are.
purism@pureos:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: PureOS
Description: PureOS 10 (Byzantium)
Release: 10
Codename: byzantium
Nothing seems out of the ordinary here, so let me know if you have any better ideas - I will be reflashing my Librem 5 USA in the meantime.
What does your output from apt list gnome-contacts
look like?
purism@pureos:~$ apt list gnome-contacts
Listing... Done
gnome-contacts/byzantium,now 43~beta-1pureos2 arm64 [installed]
Identical output to yours, except that I only used one space between list
and gnome-contacts
for my input text, and the last part is [installed, automatic]
.
You can deal with that package “issue” by using sudo apt-mark auto gnome-contacts
.
Note that I just reflashed my Librem 5 USA, but based on current information so far, there does not seem to be much difference between our software. I reimported my contacts and I still have the phone icon under the contact name(s).
