When opening the Users page of the Gnome Settings program, I do not see the super user unlocking button, not even when logged in to the administrator user.

Yes, Purism support is aware, and stated to me they would address it with the developers. Haven’t heard anything since, and I believe it was early July. My understanding is users can still be managed via the terminal.
You should be raising issues in the issue tracking system (for those issues that are not already in there).
