Not worth a long course in Linux stuff.in how to, or reading the the technical journals, FAQs, searching through more novel. No one should have to pay that amount to become a new student.

I hope the L5 can be used like a cell phone one day without having to dive in to the terminal all the time.

I’m not sure if there is an easy way, but I do think there might be a way for you to accomplish this:

  1. In Phosh Mobile Settings, there is a submenu for “On Screen Keyboard”. Changing this above the default of 1.00 worked to stretch my keyboard much higher. 1.35 worked to make it take up almost half of the phone screen in portrait mode.

(I was unable to take a screenshot with the keyboard still showing, but suffice to say it was just below the 1.35 itself, maybe 40% up the entire screen)

  2. You can look in to making a custom squeekboard profile. Here is a tutorial to get you started, and here is my personal config if you want an example. Changing the width/height might get you what you need. But most likely #2 would also need adjustments from #1 above to fully work.

Note: I am not 100% sure if the On Screen Keyboard menu is there in older versions of Phosh/Mobile Settings. By that, I mean, you might not have this if you are on PureOS Byzantium.

Thank you so so much, Space Man Spiffy!!! :folded_hands::smiley:

But, although I’m using Crimson in this moment (I uninstalled PostmarketOS and went back to PureOS) I don’t have those options in mobile settings! I’ve just the first one (enable on screen keyboard)! It’s so strange! Maybe I’ve to wait next update.. :man_shrugging:

Make sure you’re running squeekboard and not stevia/phosh-osk-stub. You can switch between those two using update-alternatives , see Phosh's On Screen Keyboard Interface · Phosh (or the stevia/phosh-osk-stub manpage) for details on how to do this. Stevia/phosh-osk-stub can scale automatically but you need at least 0.49 for that and crimson is at 0.34 .

How about Puri suits things for potential customers.

These settings exist for quiet a while and are released in 0.43 I think, with Squeekboard version 1.43 (maybe a version later of both). Not that it makes a huge difference, but to share to correct information.

If you read carefully you see that I’m not talking about the UI knobs for squeekboard above but that I’m talking about stevia’s configuration. Stevia uses automatic scaling and the UI knobs for that got added in mobile settings in https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh-mobile-settings/-/merge_requests/225 which is 0.49. So the information was correct
