PureOS update fails with unmet dependencies

So Software shows that there is an OS update available. If you look at the details it shows
ntp 1:4.2.8p15+dfsg-1
pureos-standard 0.10.5 -> 0.11.0
systemd-timesyncd 247.3 -7 deb11u2

but if you select download it comes back with an error of unmet dependencies.
So I guess there is also a PureOS 11 ready to go (like debian is updated to bookworm) but
somehow this does not work.
I also checked over at pueos.net but there is nothing there indicating that there is an upgrade available
And since Purism is notoriously bad at their documentation I guess there will no update in the documentation section for at least another six month.
Anyone there? How do I fix this (is there a updated sources file I can use to upgrade to 11?

There’s not.

What happens when you type sudo apt update and then sudo apt full-upgrade into the terminal?

It may help to specify whether you are referring to a phone or a laptop. It could be the same, it could be different, the reader may be able to work it out.

Yes,
they always worked. And that is the way I usually update the system.
But this time i used “Software” and I think I was confused by the
pureos-standard 0.10.5 -> 011.0
I think this is just coincidence (the numbering)
I guess I will never use “Software” again.

Sorry,
I should have meantioned this in my post.
This was on a L14 laptop.

PureOS store disappeared after update L5
check this out.
And this

@dos may have meant that the second-linked post applies only to the Librem 5 - although I guess eventually the Librem 14 too will migrate to crimson.

It applies to laptops as well, but usually it was Librem 5 users who desperately chased newer packages so much to enable a development repository on their phones that can break their system at any time :stuck_out_tongue:

OK then in that case the OP should probably post the non-pointless lines of /etc/apt/sources.list here or otherwise confirm which repos are in use.

This issue has nothing to do with landing though, I have managed to reproduce it on a virtual machine. Until it’s fixed, upgrading with sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade should work (it appears to be a bug in GNOME Software itself, triggered by recent package updates introduced a few days ago).

$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://repo.pureos.net/pureos byzantium main
deb http://repo.pureos.net/pureos byzantium-security main
deb http://repo.pureos.net/pureos byzantium-updates main

But I guess this is all pointless.

In this particular case, yes. You have now demonstrated that you are not affected by the ‘landing’ issue and you have a different problem.
