Why you ask?: That is the point of open hardware, and open software to break things and in the process make things better for others. Future plans are to test this with kernel 5.19.0 on Ubuntu using a M.2 to USB3 adapter and see if there is any difference in functionality that may point to required kernel updates required on pureos10, quectel provides the kernel update information as referenced below, so maybe kernel updates also need to be manually applied. Questions about alternate modem_QUECTEL EM060K-GL

I recently purchased a Quectel EM060K-GL modem specifically for the 600mhz band that T-Mobile has. My evergreen Librem5 will not see this modem, no matter what I do to it. I have confirmed it is receiving power from the mainboard, have the appropriate driver installed, but the device is not appearing in any menu or terminal command. Would there be something I could do to get this modem working?

ThinkPenguin’s Atheros AR9462 Wi-Fi (TPE-M2NCRD) on Librem 5

I inserted a wireless N dual band M.2 NGFF combo card (TPE-M2NCRD) from ThinkPenguin into a Librem 5 to see what happens. Some websites indicate that the Atheros AR9462 chip could interface via PCIe and USB, so I had some hope that the card could be capable of USB and work in Librem 5 despite the stock Librem 5 Wi-Fi cards interface being SDIO. However, it didn’t work out of the box and didn’t show up in lsusb output on Librem 5. Maybe USB was for Bluetooth in this chip. I didn’t test TPE-M2NC…
