TUTORIAL: Add a Custom Background in Phosh

If the folder is no longer there, presumably because you reflashed your device, which will have written over the .config directory, then simply create it again.

When I try to re-create .config in the /purism file, he say that “the name of this file already exist”. And when I search it, it say “no result found”

Don’t recreate the .config folder. Make sure you’re viewing “hidden” items in the list of directories and files. Check the main Files menu for “Show hidden
” Then you should see everything, including hidden directories and files, which all start with . In the Linux file system the . hides the item.

Once inside .config, recreate the gtk-3.0 directory and the script, if they don’t already exist.

The .config directory is an inherent part of the file system. The gtk-3.0 directory may or may not be present, dependent on whether you’ve created it or not, or some application has created it.

In more up to date versions of Phosh, wallpapers are supported by default (GNOME-settings). I think in Dawn it should work out of the box without CSS-hacks.

You want to say, in a near futur or right now? If it’s now, how to update to this version?

PureOS is not up-to-date with recent upstream releases, so you won’t see it there right now. That said, the work is ongoing on making it catch up in some foreseeable future.
