The pipe key issue is known:

The US keyboard layout in my librem 13v2 is unable to recognize the pipe symbol. It instead outputs ‘<’ . I managed to change the keyboard layout to English(US) with deadkeys where the pipe symbol worked, but this in turn caused the necessity to double press tilda key (~) and double quotes (") for them to be recognized. I think it’s been fixed in updates - if you fully update your system, it might get fixed.

The touchpad issue has also been reported before. Tightening some screws in the case appears to fix it:

Hardware: Librem13v2 Did I get a bad one, or are they all like this? Laptop on a clean flat surface. If I put any of the weight of my hand at all on the right side of the laptop then the mouse click gets stuck in the down state. Even putting just my wrist watch (off my hand) on top of the right corner (to the right of the touch pad), and then clicking the bottom left of the touchpad makes it stick down. It clicks back up when I poke the right corner upwards.
