People hate being deceived and think it is the responsible thing to warn others. For example, consider https://www.reddit.com/r/Purism/comments/uo4tx8/purism_not_refunding_on_librem_14/ .
It warns people that the process of ordering an “in stock” device does not imply that they will get a timely refund should they choose to cancel the order before it ships.
Caveat Emptor.

I’m not sure why you are surprised. It’s kind of like
- … the people who complain about Microsoft even though they haven’t used Microsoft for years. Or
- … the people who need to chime in that they stopped using Ubuntu 5 years ago because some default was “opt-out” at one time. Or
- … people who don’t use Mozilla, but spend time on such discussion ( https://forums.puri.sm/t/linux-mint-signs-partnership-with-mozilla/15981/5 ). Or
- … people who make comments about how shocked they are that people who have been deceived are still outraged.
