Make sense
So this will happen on Gnu Dawn as newer Gtk unaccelerated
PureOS Dawn will take whatever additional measures will be needed to provide a good user experience with GTK4 ![]()
OMGā¦
What kind of measures? From what point we could start?
Whatever will be needed. etnaviv already supports all GLES3 features that GTK4 relies on, itās just a matter of exposing them to GTK without breaking anything else. Kinda tricky, but I donāt think itās impossible.
I believed that it relies on Mesa⦠So, as soon as Mesa will support GLES3 features, GTK4 will work smoothly on the same day.
Canāt wait.
Dear @dos my full happiness/dreams is in yours hands⦠please give me etnaviv-gles3 power for Gnu Dawn,Crimson please please. ![]()
GLES3 will not improve so much Librem 5, @carlosgonz ! For Librem 5 hardware, PureOS will always be too massive!
Why not to use Librem 5 as light terminal (PostmarketOS clean of blobs and non-free repositories, so almost 100% pure except just necessary blobs (modem,ā¦) + OpenRC + SXMO) connected throw VPN/SSH⦠to your power pc at home so to have light OS, save battery, cold Librem 5 in your pocket but at same time have the best softwares like Gimp, LibreOffice, FreeCAD,ā¦? Itās no sense to have Libadwaita to adapt softwares to big screen when connect Librem 5 to monitor+mouse+keyboard and then impossible to use because no enough ram, slow, jerk⦠In my opinion, Librem 5 is perfect as terminal not as pocketpc!
PureOS is Pachyderm considering Librem 5 hardware and Dawn version didāt solve it!
Imagine someone talking about unnecessary bloat using AI for image generation⦠ironic.
Phosh 0.53.0 is here!
Could also talk about unhealthy body/fitness image stereotype propagation in the context that healthy PureOS is a heatlhy choice and has features that the slimmer options do not as the less incindiery view is that itās about balance and finding whatās good for you(r usecase).
But none of these conversations/arguments are for this thread ā to roundtable pls.
Hi I lost the icon again when I flash my other phone. For both status icons and gnome icons. Any ideas? I did try to update the cache, reset the icon theme using gsettings. None of them worked. Thanks.
Phosh 0.55.0 is here!
Be careful, pfs-common should be installed manually in case of error during apt dist-upgrade.
Also, do not forget about phosh-session-services and fix NoDisplay=true in /usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/phosh/plugins/syncthing-quick-setting.plugin to check integrations with syncthing!
p.s. also pay attention to make backups and/or have working dual boot.
@galilley Can you please weigh in on the impacts to the system and my other installed applications if I install just a glibc backport? I have several AppImages that no longer run due to outdated glibc on Crimson.
PureOS Crimson will be OldOldStable in two weeks, and I doubt even an alpha of Dawn will be out any time soon:
Perhaps more of us need to experiment with backports to see what works. Iāve finished testing postmarketOS 26.06 and if they donāt need me to test anything else, I hope to start testing Crimson with backports in a few weeks mainly for newer phosh, as I already replaced the default apps with the latest flatpaks from Flathub.
You write about x86_64, it is misprint, right?
I assumed heās using Crimson on PC. ARM build is here: Releases Ā· imputnet/helium-linux Ā· GitHub not on website or main repo.
Update: The appimage worked for me on L5 with scaling down on in phosh mobile settings.
Thatās not how it works. bookworm will be oldoldstable only once forky is released. Until that happens, oldoldstable is bullseye (which is what byzantium is based on).
No, I run Crimson on both Librem mini and L5.
