Can the Librem 15v4’s USB-C port be used to transfer data via Thunderbolt 3? Rather, will a data storage device with only Thunderbolt 3 interfaces be accessible with my Librem 15v4?

What can we do with the 13 v2's USB-C port?

I’ve seen the existing threads about USB-C charging, so understand that it’s not (yet) possible. Having never owned a device with a USB-C port before… what all can we do with it? What sorts of USB-C peripherals would be compatible with the Librem/PureOS? Can we do anything “unusual” with this port other then the expected USB-3-speed data transfer? Having fun exploring this new laptop’s capabilities… just having a new machine is a nice change from my six-year-old MacBook Air.

Good evening. I just received my Librem 15 this past week. Haven’t really tried, but I wanted to know if the USB-C port is up and running? I have an adapter that I attempted to use today and it didnt turn it on…per say. Any insight will be awesome. Thanks.

The L15V4 type-C port is USB data only, no Thunderbolt.

I no longer have the need for Thunderbolt 3.

I would like to see a TB3 to reuse an eGPU (GPU in an external case) for multiple computers as needed (for Blender or Unreal Engine). So I can use a small notebook or librem mini and “upgrade” the GPU “on demand”
