[MyL5] Received my Librem 5 (Evergreen)

Hey buddy!
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us.
Has the battery life improved since you get your phone?
With the updates.

Honestly, I haven’t been paying attention, because I don’t think those particular optimizations have been pushed out yet. In any case, it’s still necessary to recharge more often than you’re used to, and it takes several hours to charge up. At least it seems to discharge at a stable rate.

That said, the battery level monitoring got a fix today, so now it’s more accurate. See: Evergreen Battery Test

Hope that helps.

The really big improvement will come once suspend is implemented, I’m sure.

I will - if you express ship me a L5…? I’ll promise to do a lot of testing!

Harsh but fair. Although i was hoping we could reach a compromise with me shipping you the emulator: https://developer.puri.sm/Librem5/Development_Environment.html

I’ll down the latest image - will take a moment. I suppose this is pretty express

I’ve been having too hard time downloading the build all day. Is it just me and the connection here or is there something with the site (https://arm01.puri.sm/job/Images/job/Image%20Build/6044/)?

Yes, It does.
Thanks a bunch.

The build machine is currently under maintenance :frowning:

Uh…what?

Same here lol. Especially with Squeekboard, I can’t wait to get to work translating the UI as well… I want to get Thai fully implemented so that I can write to my SO in Thai from the L5

Just to confirm, L5 works fine with a stylus. (Not sure why it wouldn’t be assumed to be so, but thought I would mention it.)

For clarity, you mean the pen with the rubber tip, not some wacom thing.

Just imagine the L5 could switch to full desktop view on it’s own screen. Than a stylus would be helpfull to hit tiny areas. This way we could use applications that are not adjusted for the small screen, yet.

P.S.: now I remember that there is already the scale / dpi changer tool which basically does the job.

That’s correct.

Reducing the scale also makes all the buttons and controls smaller and sometimes closer together, so a stylus could help there, too.

I haven’t tried a bluetooth keyboard yet; I don’t have one handy. @dcz, I guess it would work, right?

From what I read on Matrix, it should. I don’t have one either.

How far in advance did you get an email asking you to confirm the shipping address?
