US Carriers / IMEI Compatibility Checker

T-mobile USA IMEI checker: https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/bring-your-own-phone

Cricket Wireless IMEI checker*: https://www.cricketwireless.com/cell-phones/bring-your-phone

Verizon Wireless IMEI checker**: https://www.verizon.com/od/prepaid/bring-your-own-device/#/deviceDetails

*AT&T no longer has an IMEI checker on its website, but they own Cricket Wireless, which does provide one, and uses AT&T’s network.

**For Verizon, you can skip the make and model info; then choose “I’m not sure” for the question about where you purchased the device.

This also applies to all the MVNOs that run on the above major networks.

US Cellular IMEI checker: https://www.uscellular.com/phones/bring-your-own-device#/

They run their own independent network in a limited geographic area of the US, so they’re not an MVNO, but see this for more info: https://bestmvno.com/mvnos/us-cellular/

Sprint, now owned by T-mobile, only allows an approved list (https://sprint.com/landings/bring-your-own-phone/index.html#eligible-device), or else diverts to T-mobile’s site from this landing: https://www.sprint.com/en/landings/bring-your-own-phone.html.

T-Mobile’s IMEI checker doesn’t work. When I click “Check phone”, it shows a rotating circle thing that never stops.

I just checked my IMEI and it works fine for me. Is it possible it’s a browser issue? Are you using NoScript and maybe forgot to allow the necessary items to run?

By the way, @everybody, in case you’re wondering, only T-mobile’s IMEI checker approves my BM818-A1; none of the others do.

No, I even turned off the ad blocker.

But just now, I deleted cookies for all t-mobile related domains, and then it did work. I guess they have buggy cookies.

I set cookies to always delete on exit, so maybe that’s why I didn’t have the issue.

Even if the librem phone is compatible with Verizon it still WILL NOT work for phone calls. Only when or I guess if purism gets it registered for volte (or even gets volte working in general for that matter) will it work. Texting probably won’t work either. Sorry if I sound aggressive, I have just seen way too many people who blindly believe that if the lte bands match, then the phone will automatically work on Verizon. Verizon is an *sshat when it comes to phones that they can’t inject and malwareise with their bloatware.

Or when Broadmobi does, actually, since it’s the modem that has to be tested and certified, if it hasn’t been already. (It apparently has been with T-mobile.)
