This animation features buttons on the right edge, which I hadn’t noticed in the photos before. (They are there though.) I’d agree with the speculation in “Librem 5 — Bits n Pieces” that the 10 pin connector is probably where these connect to the PCB.

I was puzzled by the long, thin protrusion near the kill switches until I realised it was probably the SIM/SD holder.

If care is taken to properly place and balance items, I’m in the same boat :slightly_smiling_face: I was on 12 hour shifts at the time and continuously wearing my ( stupidly unbalanced) chandelier of gear :slightly_frowning_face:

I don’t think I’ve seen this photo before:

A Librem 5 (Aspen batch) assembly is shown, screen face-down, with the metal case shown. The case forms a metal backing for the screen as well as a frame around the edge of the internals. There is a bottom PCB installed, for the USB C port. Both the screen and a socket on the bottom PCB have flat flex cables coming out of them. Coaxial antenna cables run from the bottom PCB, through grooves in bulky parts on the sides of the frame, up to the position where the M.2 cards would be, if the main PCB were installed.

It shows the coaxial antenna cables quite nicely, and makes it clear that the metal part of the case is not just a ring around the edge.

these new pics also show the cuts in the frame, which were missing in the initial Aspen models (silver version). Or I might have missed them before. They are also important for radio signal but being blocked.

Best thing: Todd says they want to ship ~ 50,000 units before the end of Q1.
That is very reassuring and explains why the team page now shows 13 more faces (well… pending I guess) than a month ago.
