With the latest package updates combined with the latest image tools, we now have initial PureOS Crimson images for the Librem 5!
Give it a try!
If you don’t mind erasing your Librem 5, and you’re not relying on it as your daily phone, you are welcome to try out this image and contribute!

You can and should take a disc image as backup first, before erasing!

And/or maybe back up individual app content, as well as any home directory customizations.
And possibly apt
history .
And installed item list .
Not to forget the stored backups from the Backups
app, just in case.

Any way to boot this image from SD card?
That would make the difference for me between trying and not trying it.

Yes, hold Vol - during bootup.
But where is the img file that I load onto the SD card?

For those looking for an easy tool to write images to an SD card, I recommend rpi-imager.

I never learned how to use it and it makes me nervous that I’m going to blow away my hard drive lol

What is current phosh version on crimson?

This makes me immensely happy.
I will be interested in trying this myself on my DD once I hear enough people saying calls/SMS/MMS are reliable.

Or Gnome-Disks
. It works quite well, and does not require anyone to install any extra apps on their L5

I am not in a position to test this exact Crimson image due to other conflicting priorities at the moment.

Also a bit tied up - I hope to get to it by tomorrow. I was also thinking it would be good to set up a separate testing thread with wikified list/table so everyone gets to know which parts have been tested and what the situation is.

Okay, you will need to create separate columns for each Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module then. You can use these Markdown tables I have created as a basis:
This is a comparison list of NVMe drives and their controller support for NVMe format and sanitize commands. To contribute, install nvme-cli, list the attached NVMe drive(s) (without their serial numbers), list their controller format/sanitize support, then post their output(s) in this thread.
sudo apt install nvme-cli
sudo nvme list
sudo nvme id-ctrl /dev/nvme0 -H | grep -E 'Format |Crypto Erase|Sanitize'
Model Name
Format NVM
Format Namespaces
Secure Erase with Crypto Erase
Crypto Erase …
A Markdown table has the same functions. Here is a truncated draft I have been working on for @JCS :

General Thoughts:
The pop-outs are not adapted to the mobile screen.
Nautilus
has a bug (previously reported) that the menu pops up as you are scrolling.
More thoughts might possibly come…
